Sibel Health is a Chicago-based medical technology company building clinical-grade wearable sensors for remote patient monitoring — HIPAA and GDPR compliant, used in clinical trials, research, and home care settings. Their hardware is serious. Their software needed to match. We were brought in across multiple separate engagements over roughly a year and a half to contribute mobile engineering across three distinct projects — building new apps, extending existing ones, and leading a small team of engineers to deliver to clinical standards.

Approach

Each engagement was different in scope, but the constant was engineering leadership. We managed a team of three to four engineers across the collaboration — with people coming in and out depending on the project — and took responsibility for delivery, quality, and the technical decisions that mattered. The work spanned Xamarin for cross-platform mobile, native Android with Java, and native iOS with Xcode. Where Sibel had existing codebases, we integrated seamlessly. Where they needed something built from scratch, we built it.

Solution

ANNE® Care — Remote Patient Monitoring App ANNE® Care is Sibel's patient-facing remote monitoring platform, pairing with their ANNE® wearable sensors to deliver real-time health data and personalised insights for care at home. We contributed to the mobile app — building features and extending the existing codebase to support Sibel's growing remote monitoring capabilities. The app works in conjunction with the ANNE® Chest and ANNE® Limb sensors, syncing clinical-grade data securely to the cloud. Adam — Clinical Tablet Application The Adam project was an internal clinical tool — a tablet application supporting Sibel's clinical workflows. We built and delivered the native mobile experience, giving clinical teams the interface they needed to work with Adam device data in a controlled setting. Pathways.org — Child Development Tracker A separate mobile engagement delivered for the Pathways.org platform — a child development milestone tracker that provides age-appropriate guidance based on delivery and due dates, covering motor, sensory, communication, and feeding milestones aligned with American Academy of Pediatrics findings. Built in Xamarin for cross-platform delivery.

Technical Highlights

Clinical-Grade Mobile Development All work delivered to HIPAA and GDPR compliant standards — medical wearable integrations, secure cloud data sync, and patient-facing interfaces built with the reliability and data integrity that clinical applications demand. Multi-Platform Native Engineering The engagement required Xamarin cross-platform, native Android with Java, and native iOS with Xcode — different projects demanded different stacks, and the team adapted accordingly. Wearable Device Integration The ANNE® Care app interfaces directly with Sibel's sensor hardware — pairing, data streaming, and real-time health data visualisation tied to physical clinical-grade wearable devices. Engineering Leadership Across Contracts A small, fluid team managed across multiple separate contracts — with consistent delivery quality and technical standards maintained throughout a year and a half of collaboration.

Impact

Three projects delivered across a sustained partnership with one of the more technically demanding clients in the digital health space. Sibel Health builds hardware that ends up in clinical trials and hospital settings — the bar for reliability and compliance is high, and the work met it. The engagement demonstrated our ability to operate at clinical standards, lead cross-functional mobile teams, and contribute meaningfully to a product organisation across multiple consecutive contracts.
